The story of this book basically revolves around the main character Tris aka Beatrice Prior. The setting took place in Chicago (in the future) where the land is divided into five facions namely Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Amity and Candor. Each faction symbolizes a virtue such as selflessness, honesty, courage, intelligence and peace. Tris was born an Abnegation but later decided to transfer to another faction where she met Four who later on plays a very big part in Tris' life.
